The online retailer of gardening tools and equipment, GardenToolbox, is announcing a Twitter competition running from Monday 2nd to Wednesday 4th July 2012, with the winner to be announced on Thursday 5th.
Evesham, Worcestershire, UK : The prize for this competition is the website’s best-selling cordless garden strimmer, the Bosch ART 26. This model features an 18V Li-Ion battery, making it easy to use in large or small gardens, a telescopic adjustable handle and a unique plastic blade system that boosts energy efficiency and accurate cutting. The strimmer retails at over £90 on the GardenToolbox website.
To enter the competition all people have to do is follow @GardenToolbox on Twitter, and then tweet that they’ve entered the competition using a specific tweet: “Just entered to WIN a £90 Bosch strimmer. Follow @GardenToolbox and retweet this link: bit.ly/GTwin #GTWin”
This tweet contains details on the prize that is there to be won, a tag of the @GardenToolbox Twitter account, a link to the competition page and the unique hashtag being used for the competition. The idea is that followers of @GardenToolbox will be attracted by the prize, tweet the link to enter and therefore notify their followers of the competition, increasing the number of entrants and thus followers and potential customers for GardenToolbox.
The competition is being run by the GardenToolbox Marketing department and Tim Hodge, Website Administrator, commented on it: “We’re really into Twitter and we’re always trying to get the most out of it. This competition is just the latest way of doing that. We’re going to track entries through the bit.ly URL shortener service as well as the unique Twitter hashtag. Then when the competition is over we’ll pick a winner at random and they’ll receive their brand new free Bosch garden strimmer. We expect the competition to gather some momentum with such a great prize on offer and hopefully we can increase our number of followers, which currently stands at around 3800.”
The GardenToolbox team are looking forward to announcing the winner on Thursday 5th and are hoping that the lucky recipient will tweet a picture of them with their prize.
Scott Morris, Marketing Manager, had the final word: “We have a long tradition of embracing the internet here at GardenToolbox, and running Twitter competitions like this is one way we do it, while at the same time connecting with our many customers.”
The competition page can be found at bit.ly/GTWin where all the relevant details are listed including a step by step guide to entering the competition.
