America... A Democracy?

by Michael Smith (Veshengro)

The short answer to this rhetorical question is NO, plain and simple.

The United States of America is a Constitutional Republic – much in the same way that Britain is a Constitutional Monarchy – but it is NOT a democracy and was never intended to be thus.

This is, I know, very difficult too understand for most people especially as they have been indoctrinated ever since about the first quarter of the twentieth century about the USA being a Democracy.

A democracy, per se, is nothing but mob rule.

The US system is NOT a democracy for, otherwise, maybe, the people would directly elect the President, which they do not, in reality. It is the Electoral College who really does, but not many people know that. And neither do the British people elect their Prime Minister. Which means that neither are a democracy proper.

Theoretically the United States of America is a Constitutional Republic with all that means.

While the Constitution states a government by the people for the people this no longer functions and works and the question really is as to whether it ever was working properly as such a government is meant to be.

If it would be a government by the people for the people then the president would be directly elected by the people and from the people, but neither of that is the case, is it now.

The fact is that the United States are not the kind of government that the leaders keep claiming and neither is it that kind of government that the self-acclaimed patriots claim it to be.

The truth is that the people allowed themselves to be cheated many years back and had their country and their government stolen from them, by increments, without realizing it.

The talk very often is, to a child from a parent, that in America he has the chance to become anything he likes, including the president, by hard work.

While that may be true as to most positions it is not thus as regards the president, as must be obvious to any but the entirely stupid. In order to succeed in politics in America one first of all has to have lots of money, lots of rich financial backers and, on top of all, absolutely no scruples.

Most congressmen and -women, it is rather obvious, have sold their souls to the highest bidder and the same also appears to be true as to senators and also and especially local politicians, including many a sheriff.

When it comes to running for president then there is no way for the ordinary person too even have a chance ever to get anywhere near the race, let alone run in it, for it requires millions and millions of dollars, that need to be gathered from supporters somewhere somehow and even then, as has been shown so often, it may not get one anywhere. As an independent, even with tons of financial backing, certainly there is no chance.

So, someone tell again that the political system of the United States of America is a government by the people for the people. Nothing could be further from th truth.

So, who runs the USA?
