SILVER SPRING, MD, April 2009: This April, the staff at TreeHugger.com has scoured the globe to identify the best of the best, the greenest of the green, in the worlds of culture and celebrity, travel and nature, cars and transportation, science and technology, food and health, business and politics, and fashion and beauty. After nearly five years of exploring, critiquing and lauding the world of modern green, TreeHugger’s first annual Best of Green “It’s About Time Awards” (http://www.treehugger.com/best-of-green) profiles 177 winners across eight categories. TreeHugger gives readers the opportunity to voice their opinion through a special view and vote feature on sister site PlanetGreen.com. Voting in each category ends on Earth Day April 22.That’s when the real fun begins with readers rating their favorite choice for “best in show” revealed on May 1.
“Every day TreeHugger and PlanetGreen.com teams, representing more than 50 writers across five continents, cover the most exciting people, organizations, events and initiatives in the environmental space,” said Meaghan O’Neill, Editor-in-Chief for TreeHugger.com and PlanetGreen.com. “This is a great opportunity for us to share some of our favorites and to get our readers involved in the action. Now more than ever we think it’s about time.”
