Heinz Tomato Ketchup gets families growing own tomatoes

Heinz Grow Your OwnHeinz has launched a new Grow Your Own campaign which encourages families across the UK to grow their very own tomatoes, and is giving away free seeds via Facebook.

The idea is to underline the fact that Heinz Tomato Ketchup is grown not made, and to share the company’s extensive tomato growing experience.

Grow Your Own sees Heinz launching an interactive, educational app on its Heinz Tomato Ketchup UK Facebook page, passing on its knowledge, offering free tomato seeds, tomato trivia and games for all to enjoy.

The app will be live for the duration of the growing season. The Tomato School provides fun and engaging facts about growing tomatoes, while the Greenhouse Photo Gallery allows tomato growers to upload pictures of their photos and enter into competitions to receive free Heinz Tomato Ketchup gardening merchandise.

To support the online activation hub, a limited edition front-of-pack label featuring the ‘Grow Your Own’ message will run across the 460g and 700g top down packs of Heinz Tomato Ketchup. The new packs will be available in-store throughout the campaign.
The integrated marketing campaign will be supported with print and Facebook advertising. For more information, visit: www.facebook.com/HeinzKetchupUK.

Emma Rumble, senior brand manager, Heinz Tomato Ketchup, says: “Shoppers are becoming more health aware, especially when it comes to feeding their little ones. The campaign aims to reassure mums that Heinz Tomato Ketchup is bursting full of tomatoes, and drive home the message that Heinz Tomato Ketchup is the right choice for the whole family.”
