Enecsys solar PV micro-inverter scoops technology award from expert cleantech forum

CleanEquity Monaco presents Enecsys with the award for Excellence in the Field of Environmental Technology Development at an event presided over by H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco

Cambridge, UK, March 2011: Enecsys Limited, the leader in reliable solar micro-inverter systems, has won the award for Excellence in the Field of Environmental Technology at the CleanEquity Awards Ceremony. The invitation-only event by CleanEquity Monaco, presided over by H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, was held on Friday, March 4th. Thirty-four clean technology companies from four continents were represented.

Innovator Capital and the Monaco Chamber of Economic Development hosted the
2-day, annual CleanEquity event at which the world’s most promising next-generation cleantech companies presented their credentials to financial and strategic investors, policy makers, the media and end users.

The Enecsys micro-inverter represents a breakthrough in inverter design for residential and commercial solar photovoltaic (PV) installations. Its patented technology has, for the first time, eliminated components that limit inverter life. Originally developed at Cambridge University, UK, the Enecsys micro-inverter enables solar PV systems to harvest between 5% and 20% more energy over their lifetime. It makes planning and installation of PV systems easier and safer due to the elimination of high voltage DC wiring, and it enhances system optimization by monitoring the performance of each solar module. It also eliminates the single most common point of failure in conventional solar PV systems – the string inverter. The Enecsys micro-inverter is the only product of its kind, available in both Europe and North America that matches the operating life of solar modules (more than 25 years), operates from -40 to +85 degrees C and is warranted for 20 years. Enecsys micro-inverters are installed on the rack behind solar modules, either one inverter per solar module, or one for every two modules.

Commenting on the award, Enecsys CEO, Henrik Raunkjaer, said, “This award from this expert panel is testament to the outstanding innovation of the Enecsys design and development team. Our creativity and hard work have created a product that is transforming the economic model of solar PV, making it far more attractive for consumers and installers alike. The Enecsys micro-inverter represents excellent value and it will make a significant contribution to lowering the cost of environmentally friendly solar power, bringing it closer to grid parity.”

About Enecsys

Enecsys Limited, develops, manufacturers, and markets world-leading, highly reliable, grid-connected solar micro-inverters and monitoring systems for residential and commercial photovoltaic systems that offer an outstanding value proposition. The micro-inverter maximizes energy harvest and converts the DC power from each solar module into quality AC power for supply to the electricity grid. The advantages of Enecsys solar micro-inverters include: maximized energy harvest, improved safety, increased lifetime and reliability, enhanced performance monitoring, and simplified PV array design and installation. The monitoring system tracks, in real-time, the performance of each solar module and transmits the information through a robust built-in wireless communication system that connects to the Internet. Headquartered in Cambridge, UK, the company also has sales and support offices in Bad Homburg, Germany and in Redwood Shores, California. For more information, please visit http://www.enecsys.com.
