Monday, February 6, 2012 sees the start of Go Green Week in the UK which coincides with National Green Week in the USA and which runs until February 12, 2012.
Go Green Week is People & Planet’s annual national week of action on climate change in schools, colleges and universities. Students hold a week of activities to raise awareness every February and launch Going Greener projects. People & Planet groups join staff & student unions to create a positive transition vision of their universities and showcase practical solutions for a low-carbon future.
On Friday, People & Planet coordinates a national day of action for greener education. Students from across the UK will come together to ask the government to live up to its promise to become the greenest government ever and take urgent action to secure the education sector’s transition to a low-carbon, sustainable future that can create green jobs.
