Ambitious story from The 3hundredand65 Project attracts celebrity writers and over 200 volunteer writers in just one month, raising money for The Teenage Cancer Trust.
What began as a last minute idea, late on New Year’s Eve has grown into a Twitter craze known as 3hundredand65. The ambitious project has attracted support from professional poets, writers, artists and even Olympic cyclists and DJs across the UK as they commit to writing a single installment in just 140 characters in order to raise money for The Teenage Cancer Trust.
A growing audience of Twitter users wait each day for these latest installments to see how the days new writer will shape the year-long story. Each Tweet is then followed by unique illustrations from creator Dave Kirkwood whose work has defined the much loved project. The project, which can be viewed at http://www.3hundredand65.co.uk, is already being followed by readers all over the world.
Dave Kirkwood says, "The way and speed in which this story has been taken on has been astounding. Writers and readers have taken up the call for celebrities to lend a hand in raising awareness and it's wonderful to see how The Teenage Cancer Trust is benefitting."
Fans engage in hot debate, questioning narrative twists or expressing hope for future events. With increasing numbers of people taking ownership of the story project and helping to publicise it, writers take their responsibilities seriously.
DJ and XFM presenter, Clint Boon described the project as "...probably the most imaginative use of Twitter ever and for a great cause".
The story doesn't end there. New initiatives are planned to make it easier for people to access the story and donate, including an App for iPhone that will compliment the excellent website.

The 3hundredand65 Project was created by designer Dave Kirkwood as a collaborative effort to raise money for The Teenage Cancer Trust by creating a graphic novel over the course of a single year. All proceeds go towards helping the charity continue its important work.
