Worlds Logo.11.05 Second Chance Toys and 1-800-GOT-JUNK? are at it again, stockpiling donations of gently-used toys and getting set to deliver them to children in need throughout the Northeast. With this holiday drive Second Chance toys hopes to deliver its 90,000th toy! Since its inception in 2006, Second Chance Toys, in partnership with 1-800-GOT-JUNK? has been collecting toys and distributing them to children in daycares, schools, and hospitals wherever there is a need. But there are other benefits to this drive.

“Every toy that we put into the hands of a child means one less toy that could end up being thrown into a landfill,” explains Bronna Lipton, Director of Second Chance Toys. “The environmental benefits are huge.”

While volunteers from Second Chance Toys collect a variety of children’s toys, 1-800-GOT-JUNK?, the world’s largest junk removal company, is responsible for pick-up and delivery of the toys to facilities throughout New Jersey, New York, Philadelphia, and Chicago.

New Jersey 1-800-GOT-JUNK? Franchise Partner, Drew Trautman has coordinated a number of toy drives since day one.

“Our partnership with Second Chance Toys has been rewarding on so many levels – from helping out the kids to diverting used items from the landfill, but our goal is to help grow this charity to its potential and change the lives of kids around the world.”

The charity started locations in Sydney and Melbourne, Australia last year and has plans to expand its North American footprint in 2012. By Earth Day, the next big drive, the goal is to hit 100,000 toys delivered.

1-800-GOT-JUNK? is pioneering an industry that is helping residents and businesses remove junk and regain space.
