This is one serious question that every married woman will ask herself either not long after the wedding or some years later.
Many are, obviously, reluctant to part with it for sentimental reasons in the same way as for the fact that it has cost a great deal of money. Some of those dresses that even the more ordinary mortals insist on buying for the one day reach four figure numbers and more.
The real truthful answer, as far as I am concerned, tho this dilemma is not to use a specific expensive wedding dress in the first place but a dress that can later find reuse for other purposes.
Aside from the expense the fact that the dress is being used, in general, bar once, on the wedding day, and never again, unless someone will pass their dress on to her daughter at her wedding, also falls into the category of “great waste”.
A sensible dress that can be converted afterwards or that simply is a nice dress that can be used for evening wear or such like in many years to come – until such a time that the waistline will no longer be accommodated by said dress, is by far a better and more environmentally friendly choice.
The best wedding dress is no wedding dress...
