More than 50 experts present energy solutions for medium-sized businesses

Ostwestfalen-Lippe holds forum on industrial energy efficiency

The Energieforum Ostwestfalen-Lippe 2008 will be held in the Ostwestfalen exhibition centre from the 5th to the 7th of November this year. The "Energie Arena" is an integral part of this forum and is where visitors can expect to find a concentration of expertise in every area of commercial energy use. A total of 40 speakers will give presentations in 12 workshops on the themes of energy facts and figures, incentives, air-conditioning technology, de-centralised production, building efficiency, building management and renewable energy. In addition to these technological approaches, the prospect of increasing employee expertise levels and European market development will be considered, as will the profit chances of medium-sized businesses with CO² trading certificates.

Prominent guest speakers such as Stephen Kohler, head of the German Energy Agency (dena) and Patrick Lambert from the European Union have been engaged to open the convention. After all, the politico-economic dimension of European guidelines should be highlighted too. How do businesses profit from the European Union's energy efficiency guidelines? Which market partners should developers and producers rely on? How is Europe helping to put innovations into practice?

On the first day of the convention, entrepreneurs, who already have experience in the energy efficiency product and services market, will have the opportunity to speak with the NRW (North Rhine-Westphalia) economic affairs minister, Christa Thoben, and international guests such as the environmental legal specialist Jan-Erik Starlander as well as representatives from the parent organisation of the French chambers of commerce. They will also have the opportunity of discussing their performance prospects in the European market in the area of industrial energy efficiency.

"Due to the close cooperation of energy users, component manufacturers and service providers, we have an exceptional expertise for the optimisation of the industrial processes in our region which is characterised by medium-sized businesses. We should use this expertise in modern energy components and services to our advantage and where better is there to show this to a national audience of trade experts than at the energy conference that is taking place within the Maschinenbaumesse (engineering trade fair) from 5th to 7th November in the Ostwestfalen exhibition centre in Bad Salzuflen?" explained Klaus Meyer, managing director of Energie Impuls OWL. Joint organisers are the Bielefeld and Lippe chambers of commerce; the congress partners are Bielefeld Stadtwerke (municipal utility) and E.ON Westfalen Weser. The convention is further supported by the Intelligent Energy Europe Programme of the EU. Over 5,000 trade experts will be visiting the trade fair with the EnergieArena and 400 interested representatives of industry are expected for the convention alone.
