A Sneak Peak at Cutting Edge Design in Technology
London, March 2009 - New to the EDF Energy Ideal Home Show this year, the Smarter Living Showcase will be displaying the latest innovative gadgets and gizmos for the home.
Located at the heart of the Show, the feature has been designed to simulate a real house with a split-level design and five separate rooms - kitchen, living room, study, bedroom and bathroom; allowing visitors to see inside the home of the future.
The Smarter Living Showcase will provide the backdrop to regular presentations that demonstrate the latest in awe-inspiring home appliances and gadgets - all designed to improve quality of living, maximize space, increase energy efficiency and best of all – save money! All of which are integral themes at this year's Show. There will be 16 shows a day illustrating the very latest in innovative design and visitors to the Show will get the chance to be among the first to see this cutting edge design in technology.
Some of the products on show include the LG Steam Direct Drive, a washing machine that not only washes but steam irons your clothes too - so you can throw out the ironing board! The Espace Loggia Ceiling Bed epitomizes the theme of space saving as when not in use, simply store it away on the ceiling. The Q-London 3D Video Goggles mean that you can watch your favorite movies anywhere in the house from your bedroom to the garden. The Mech RC Robot could well be a new pet of the future, personalize your robot with its own sound effects, voices and music straight from your home PC.
In addition, the Smarter Living Showcase will also serve as an evening venue to see some of the biggest names from across the home and finance arena with the likes of Martin Lewis, and Alison Cork using the Showcase as a platform to discuss money saving ideas and top bargain hunting tips respectively. Gethin Jones will be at the Show to announce the winner of Innovation Nation The Public competition.
