Fair Trade Market in the Cutty Sark Gardens 13th July

The Cutty Sark Gardens, Greenwich will be hosting its first fair trade market on
Sunday 13th July from 11 am to 4 pm. There will be 25 stalls inside the marquee selling a wonderful range of fair trade products including clothing, jewellery, accessories, household goods, world music CDs, food and drink. You'll be amazed at the breadth of choice and the quality of the work, most of which will be hand produced.

It will be your chance for some amazing buys with producers from at least 16 developing countries represented (including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Cambodia, Chile, Ecuador, Ethiopia, Kenya, India, Mexico, Nepal, Palestine, Peru, Nepal, Tibet, Uganda and Vietnam) and the skills range is breathtaking.

The event will be partly sponsored by The Co-operative Group, whose supermarkets helped to pioneer the availability of Fairtrade produce, and Infinity Foods Cooperative, the largest independent supplier of fairtrade produce, who will be there with their range of dried fruits, nuts and grains. Lovethatstuff, a BAFTS (British Association For Fair Trade Shops) importer is organising the market with Greenwich Council, and we want the whole family to come on down and enjoy themselves.

Come and listen and learn with our programme of guest speakers on fair trade and development issues, play games to find out more about how you can help make the lives of producers in developing countries so much better, and buy a ticket to win some great prizes in our raffle to raise funds for a new group of Afghan women. Get yourself some wonderful presents for those you love (including yourself) and make a real difference to many of the world's poorest. And with lots of local and global stalls you can eat there or take away.
