Whitehouse ponders executive order to ban guns

It would appear, to all intents and purposes, that the White House is considering the use of the President's executive order privilege to get a ban guns in private hands in the US past both Houses.

President Barack Obama is exploring executive orders to help prevent mass shootings in America, Vice President Joe Biden said on Wednesday, January 9, 2013.

“The president is going to act. Executive orders, executive action, can be taken,” Biden told reporters before meetings with groups representing survivors of mass shootings.

“We haven't decided what this is yet, but we're compiling it all with the help of the attorney general and all the rest of the Cabinet members.”

President Obama is well aware that he will not get any ban of firearms in civilian hands, bar, maybe, just maybe, a ban on so-called though falsely labeled, assault rifles, such as the “AR15”, through the legislative process, that is through both Houses, but he is heel-bent to get the guns out of the hands of the people. Thus he is now considering using the executive order process and do it by presidential degree.
