Amgen announces renewable energy training courses and five-fold expansion of Carmarthenshire facilities

Amgen Renewables, a specialist in renewable energy technologies and installations, is expanding its facilities five-fold and launching a series of training courses for system installers and the general public. The courses, which typically run from 1-2 days will provide education and training in solar photovoltaic (PV), solar thermal, biofuels, ground and air source heat pumps, waste water heat recovery, rain water harvesting, biofuels and other renewable energy sources. Each course will cater for a maximum of 10 delegates, ensuring individual attention to the needs and interests of each delegate. They will be held at Amgen’s new facility on Cross Hands Business Park, Carmarthenshire, starting on October 10th. The new showroom and training centre is five times larger than the company’s previous premises in Ammanford.

Commenting on the courses, Amgen’s managing director, Dr. Peter Hughes, said, “There are hundreds of companies now offering renewable energy products and services to installers and consumers. However, few have the expertise to provide unbiased, professional advice to ensure that the right solution is applied in every situation, that the return on investment is optimised for consumers, and that maximum energy is extracted from each installation. By sharing our knowledge of a wide range of alternatives, we aim to help both trade practitioners and consumers make more informed choices and to advance the cause of low carbon technologies through this initiative.”

Amgen is demonstrating its products and services at Low Carbon Expo 2011 in Cardiff Motorpoint Arena on 16–17 September.

Amgen Renewables was founded by Dr. Peter Hughes in 2008. The company provides independent expert advice on a wide variety of renewable energy technologies, which it also supplies and installs throughout the UK. Amgen has expertise in solar photovoltaic (PV), solar thermal, biofuels, ground and air source heat pumps, wood burners/ biomass, eco logs, and other renewable energy sources. The company is REA (Renewable Energy Association) Listed and is an MCS Accredited installer. More information: http://www.amgenrenewables.com.
