The man in the street gets screwed again

by Michael Smith (Veshengro)

Whichever way the coalition talks between the Conservative Party and the Liberal Democrat Party and the talks between that party who, in their two faced approach have shown they are not up to govern this country, and the discredited Labour Party, will go, the man in the street, the ordinary working class man and woman, is left screwed by professional politicians who have no other interests but their own.

Once upon a time the Liberal Democrats may have appeared of integrity but the way they have been behaving in these talks show that they have no integrity whatsoever and are not fit to govern a country club let alone be trusted to run a county.

While proportional representation may be a good way of running elections the way Britain runs presently PR will not and cannot work.

Much would have to change before we could ever go down that road, as we would loose the local Members of Parliament, a system that the people have gotten so used to, especially as the local MP can be a great mean for them to put issues forward.

The possibility could also be now that, since Gordon Brown has said that he is resigning as leader of the Labour Party, should it come to an arrangement between Labour and the LibDems who the next Prime Minister will be.

The great question is as to whether the British public would wear the result of a Lab-Lib coalition of sorts with a PM that they had no right, not even an indirect one, of having a say about.

As said, whichever way the ordinary person in the street is being screwed left, right and center and that there is definitely one party that have no backbone and will go into any direction as long as it will get them, maybe, in to a little power.

This shows more than anything that we need a complete change in the political system, in Britain and not just Britain; one where the people really rule and not where some people claim they will represent them and then screw them because the know that the punter in the street has no weapons against them.

Time for a change!
