How to find Loseley Park?
Loseley Park is South of Guildford and 30 miles South West of London.
Loseley Park
Guildford
Surrey
GU3 1HS
By road
Loseley Park is situated on the B3000 New Pond Road and the main entrance is in Stakescorner Road, signposted ‘Loseley House’. Please be aware the Sandy Lane route has a sharp hairpin bend not suitable for coaches.
If using SATNAV, please enter "Stakescorner Road GU3 1HS" otherwise you will be directed to the wrong part of Loseley Estate.
By rail
Our nearest main station is at Guildford around three miles away and a taxi from there will take you direct to Loselely Park. Alternatively the bus station is a short walk and the bus will take you to the end of the Loseley drive – it’s then a pleasant walk of a little over a mile to Loseley House.
By bus
From Guildford Bus Station - numbers 42,44,71,92 and 70
It should also be possible, I should think , to get to Loseley Park from Guildford Railway Station by bicycle and, as it is on the weekend it should be possible to take your bike on the train
Route to the Future is an inspiring event offering a unique opportunity to see how the social enterprise Bricks and Bread Sustainable Living Centre together with their hub of experts, is proactively creating entrepreneurial solutions and activities which are helping people and businesses to reduce their energy, fuel, food and waste; saving money and resources.
Bricks and Bread has a proven track record of inspiring people and enabling rapid change. With their social entrepreneur led activities and sustainable enterprise solutions, they help everyone to adapt to the low carbon economy; from schools, young people and local residents, to small and large businesses. Their expert advice sessions and practical skills training are making it easier for people to adopt sustainable ways to live, work and build.
The event, basically, starts with the Sustainable entrepreneurship workshops & business conference at the Bricks and Bread Sustainable Living Centre in Aldershot from 28th to 30th September and the main event is at Loseley Park, Guildford on 1st-2nd October 2011, with fun for all the family.
Highlights of the weekend event are:
-
Change to Save zone - Expert advice & information from sustainable enterprises
-
Walk, Ride, Drive zone - Test Drives and displays of Eco Vehicles
-
Waste Reuse zone - Fun ‘make your own’ creative activities
Unlike other events showcasing vehicles and sustainable products, all the profits raised from Route to the Future will fund a long term, wide reaching program of advice, training and social entrepreneur led projects. The fund and its activities will be coordinated by Bricks and Bread Sustainable Living Centre and delivered by their ever growing hub of independent experts, social enterprises and sustainable businesses.
The event has considerable support from the sustainable enterprises that collaborate with Bricks and Bread who will be showcasing their services at the event and from the local businesses that benefit from the advice, training and products supplied by the Bricks and Bread hub of experts. These local businesses are exhibiting, sponsoring, or creating display boards for the event to show visitors what they have done to make their business sustainable and to prove they are committed to do more.
Before the weekend event starts, at Bricks and Bread in Aldershot on Wednesday the 28th of September there will be a day for local school children on sustainable entrepreneurship, on the 29th September a FREE workshop is being run by Martin Charter of the Centre for small business owners and on the 30th of September is the Route to the Future business conference.
Route to the Future was created by the founder of Bricks and Bread, Trudy Thompson an internationally recognized, inspirational social entrepreneur. Trudy really ‘walks the talk’ when it comes to being able to live, work and build sustainably, having changed her life from being a professional driver in motorsport and performance car dealer to become a leading expert with real hands-on experience in sustainable business and eco building.
